In 2025 Elizabeth published the book: The Choice is Yours: A mother's journey through family, faith and grief.

This is an account of the Pilaar family, describing their journey through raising children, home schooling, the impact of Michael's cancer, and his death. The primary message of the book is that although we often don't have control over what happens to us in life, we do have a choice in how we respond to those events. Built around her experience of losing Michael, Elizabeth describes her journey with grief and how she found meaning, purpose, and hope through it.
